How it works

  1. Finish your answers

Answer the questions in your document as usual. AnswerCheck™ waits for you on the Review Your Choices page.

  2. Agree, then check

Select “I agree” and choose Check my answers. Nothing is sent until you do.

  3. Fix or keep

Each suggestion opens the right page, with steps to follow. You decide what to change.

What AnswerCheck™ looks for

A few of its checks. It only suggests changes you can make yourself, on pages you have already filled in.

No one to step in

Someone you named, such as your Executor, with no one to step in if they can't act.

Automatic check

A share with no backup

If a beneficiary dies before you, your Will doesn't say who receives their share.

Automatic check

Family left out

A spouse or child who receives nothing in your plan, in case that isn't what you meant.

Automatic check

Gifts in the wrong place

Real estate, or a share of your whole estate, entered as a specific gift instead of in the residue of your estate.

AI check

Names and dates that don't add up

Two spellings of one name, or a child listed as older than you.

Automatic check

Wording that may be unclear

Typed answers that may be unclear, or may not match your other choices.

AI check

What AnswerCheck™ is, and isn't

  • It's AI, not a lawyer. No lawyer reviews your answers, and using AnswerCheck™ does not create a lawyer-client relationship.
  • It isn't legal advice. Suggestions are general prompts to help you double-check your answers. They may not apply to your situation, and AI can make mistakes or miss things.
  • You stay in control. AnswerCheck™ won't change your answers. You decide whether to act on any suggestion.
  • Your privacy. We remove names and contact details before your answers are sent to our cloud provider's AI service for the check.

Your privacy

Some checks run automatically on our own servers. For the others, a summary of your answers is sent to our cloud provider's AI service, which reviews it for us.

Read our Privacy Statement

  • Before the summary is sent, we remove names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and ID numbers.
  • The people in your document are replaced with labels such as “Child 1”.
  • A final check stops the summary from being sent if anything that looks like a name or contact detail is still in it.
  • Your answers are processed by our cloud provider, aren't used to train AI, and aren't kept after the check unless the provider's safety systems flag them.
  • AnswerCheck™ runs only if you agree, and you can turn it off at any time in MyProfile.

When a lawyer or notary is the better choice

AnswerCheck™ checks your answers, but it can't advise you on your situation. If you own a business, have a family member who will need long-term support, are separated, or have a large or complex estate, a lawyer (or a notary in Québec) can give you advice that an online Will on its own cannot. Our free questionnaire points you to a professional when that is the better route.
